Flight attendant accused of trying to smuggle 70 pounds of cocaine arrested in NY
A JetBlue flight attendant accused of using her credentials to attempt to get 70 pounds of cocaine through airport security in Los Angeles before flinging off her heels and fleeing, has been arrested in New York, authorities said. JUST MY OPINION
The war on drugs started by President Nixon was a must at the time. There was a heroin epidemic due mostly to the American soldiers bringing massive amounts in on military planes from Vietnam. Then crack hit in the early 80's and President Reagan tried continuing the effort while his CIA was involved with drug trafficking with the Nicaraguan Contras. The war on drugs is a political front. The United States has been fighting this war for half a century and right now we are in the midst of the worse heroin addiction we've ever seen which is a result of the government crackdown on prescription painkillers. The war on drugs is like the war on terror. These so called wars will never end and I just wonder how much our government really wants them to end. Just think about all the people that would be out of a job if the war on drugs was won. Judges, lawyers, police, corrections officers, counselors, thousands of government employees, and on and on. Our jails and prisons would be at about 25% capacity. Of course legalization is not the answer. Ending the war is not the answer either. The answer is changing the offensive. The answer is changing the mindset from looking at addiction as a criminal matter to looking at it as a medical one. But, hey that's just my opinion

Pa. Coroner: Heroin Deaths Are Homicides
There were two dozen drug overdose deaths in Pennsylvania's Lycoming County last year - each labeled accidental. Then coroner Charles Kiessling had to pronounce his friend's son dead from a heroin overdose, though he'd promised the victim's mother he'd talk to him about overcoming his addiction.

Prescription painkillers kill more than heroin and cocaine combined. They kill more than car accidents for Gods sake. Until I start seeing big Pharma execs facing homicide charges it's a double standard. I'm not taking up for dope dealers but I do believe in personal responsibility and I hate the double standard we have in this country that seems to run along racial lines. Crack cocaine and heroin have destroyed the black communities for decades and in the early to mid 2000's when prescription painkillers started effecting the suburbs and gated communities the federal government was all over it like white on rice. Trust me I know. I was in the midst of my addiction to painkillers at the time and it was almost like over night the pill mills were shut down, Doctors were going to jail, and finding painkillers at a pharmacy took visiting 25-30 before you found one that would fill it. So, go ahead and arrest the dope dealers but they need to have some Tobacco, Alcohol, and Pharmaceutical CEO's on the docket with them, but hey that's just my opinion.
